I don't think that GM had used dual point distributors for a few years before '69. I've never heard of anything but the 499 distributor in the '69 L78 and COPO cars and that's all that is shown in the parts books. You could get an electronic ignition in Vettes back as early as about 1966. Delco-Remy had a CD ignition kit that you could add and it used the points as the trigger. I put one of these setups on our 427. The car started at -32F so I guess it helped. If this doesn't help, I hope that it is at least entertaining.

Chevelleless after 46 years......but we did find a low mileage, six speed, silver 2005 Corvette. It will just have to do for now.
