Special Paint/Hugger Orange 1969 L78 Nova

I bought this car about a year ago about 30 miles south of Pittsburgh. My question is are these double dash/special paint cars really that rare? What dealership sold it originally? My dad used to tell my brother and I a story about going out with a carload of buddies to Don Allen Chevrolet in 68/69 and seeing an entire showroom full of Chevrolets of nearly every model.. a Camaro, Chevelle, Nova, and even an Impala. The odd part of the story is he said ALL of them were painted hugger orange.
