I was just poking fun. Swipe all the photos you like . Darren, Both Dennis and I tried to help but you did not give any more info. Here is a link to some 970 series tach instructions I posted on this site for just this type of situation:

The tach will work without the monitor for a short time, then it will most likely fry. I have sold those panel mount tachs in that style from $50-$200 on Ebay. It really depends on timing and condition. The $200 one was NOS and was the tach I got those instructions from.
