The distributor came from Jeff Dotterer. I believe Earl went down the road, and got the original carb back from his neighbor.(Earl correct me if I'm wrong.) The original dist went in an old chevy truck, if I remember the story correctly.
We did send the carb to McNeish.
I hate to bring this subject up since there seems to be a pretty good battle going on about it, but on the lift bracket issue, I've seen 2 maybe 3 original deuces that had the double leg frt bracket while mine has the single. None were painted and seemed to be natural. I do wonder a little about the possibility of the frt at least being slightly silver cad plated. As Grady mentioned, it seems like there was something on them, but it didn't last long. But then maybe not.
