Cutting it open is a wise move Charley, since you ran it without an oil change. That will tell you a lot about the condition of the internals.

I only wish I could have the opportunity to document such a rare unmolested original '61-'64 as your car. I've gathered many bits & pieces from several cars, but not had the pleasure of spending unlimited time on one true original.
