I personaly do not like centre force clutches either, at least the dual friction style with the little weights on the fingers.
I build a lot of cars for people and have had numerous customers supply a Centre Force clutch. I have taken the weights off temporarily, and checked the balance of the press plate and have had them as far out as 24 grams. A lot of people run them with no trouble, but every time i have removed the trans at a later date the weights are off centre. I have had a Hays Gold Diahpram press plate in my Z for going on 25 years, and it has never given any trouble what so ever, even when i drag raced that car in the 70,s, and trust me it got abused! MaCleod also makes a good piece. Just my .25 worth. |
