The NC-8 chambered exhaust was not discontinued. I have seen it on late 1969 Chevelle build sheets. It was discontinued as the standard exhaust system for the L78 but was still available as optional equipment "where system is permissible". I believe this was also true for L78 and Z/28 Camaros.

Is there any real evidence of a 69 Heater delete car in Hawaii?
