I earned my first black belt in 1985. The reasonable force component of the law was in place then (had to attend a seminar on the topic that was run by a Hamilton cop).

We are having weekly car and home thefts on my neighborhood and have had a number of armed home invasions - the most recent was last month 2 streets away from my place. All of us are fortifying our homes to make them harder to break into. It is a sad state of affairs.
