Lynn is right.
Goodyear was advancing the tires down the line. Polyglas was superior to the Widetreads. The only widetreads that were made (for OEM applications) after April of '69 was for the Corvette. Our guess on the reason that the 'Vettes continued with those tires (F70-15 Wide Treads) is that the volumes of suspension tuning data had already been written and the radials were coming up, so why try to rewrite and redo the suspension for 2-3 years?
