| CE blocks

I looked at a 68 z this morning with a CE block cast Sept 67. Is this way to early for a 02E car built in 68? I am not sure if CE blocks were cast and then shelved until used by GM.

CE blocks were not always used for warranty purposes. That block could have been put in the car years after both were manufactured. |

Yes I understand anyone could buy a CE block. He says it was a warranty block so I am wondering if the date could be so much earlier than the cars build date.

Yes. Your's is a possible situation that could have been repeated multiple times with other vehicles as well. Are there any digits stamped after CE? |

Paul, does the seller have any documentation to show that the car had a warranty replacement motor? Tell us more about the Z/28? Mark Sheppard |

No paperwork as far as I know. The car is a Lemans blue ,blue standard interior,no console original muncie shifter is intact,BU rear end. Car needs a lot of front end metal as per accident in 1976. He does have paperwork from police incident # from 76. Car is filthy from sitting for years. I am going to run the serial # through GM next week.

Paul, keep us posted. I have seen your paint and body work and if you can get it documented. It could be a very sweet car. Mark Sheppard |

I will keep you posted. The only thing I remember is the last 2 numbers on the pad were larger digits and not inline with the others
