I'm gonna vote "good call" on the interior redux on the '68 Chevelle. I like the car, but I would have a hard time driving while suppressing the gag reflex from that interior. I'm sure Don is coming up with a suitably retro interior feel that is a little more palatable.
Only worse interiors would be diamond tuck crushed velvet, or angel hair. In the spirit of gawd-awful retro sensibilities, I think someone should start a thread showing all of the terrible injustices done to Corvettes over the years in the name of individuality. Something about fiberglass just made so many guys think "I have a saw and some glue, I can make it REALLY cool". Not extreme but one of my favorite old articles is on "How to remove that ugly bar in the back window your new '63 Corvette". |

The street freaks near and dear to my heart are the cars from the early to mid-seventies that were featured in the early seventies Car Craft mags and mid seventies Hot Rod magazines.I realize that most were mild, hollow blower case cars, but still, very cool...wonder how many of THOSE are left???....
P.S......I truly love that Chevelle Don!!....I could do that!!!!!............BILL |

The next time I am home, I am going to snap some pics of my Dad's cousin's '70 Camero. Even though it was worked over in '74, it is one of the most tastful street freaks I have ever seen! Originally a 327/4 speed, a 454/turbo 400 now reside dressed in Edelbrock signature series tin. The exterior is a beautiful red with some very tastful 3 color pinstriping wearing Crager S/S's all around wrapped in Hercules Honchos (I believe the back is L 60's). Slapper bars, fender flares, and L88 hood round out the outside. The interior is tall back buckets with a light diamond pleate. I want him to fix it up and leave it retro. Still gets me going!!!!

Wow look at that van! Looks like something Will Ferrell would drive in Anchorman.

a lot of the street freaks were built from the most desireable cars, the big block cars either went racing, became street freaks or both, not many survived the 80's muscle car boom because they became the restored cars we see now.
