814 or 837?

What alternator would be correct for a sept. 68 l78, a 837 or a 814?

Chevelle,Camaro, or Nova? I am no expert on '68's, I know the '69-'70's used the 837. I am sure that someone more saavy than me will chime in.

814 was a 68 model year component...nova, camaro and chevelle, full size(high-horse)...a sept car would probably a 69 model year...don't have my colvin book handy..but the 837 is 69 and up..
