I had a great time for my very first time out. After taking my first few runs in the the low 14s my goal for the day was to get it into the 13s. I managed to do that with out breaking anything. It was a challenge to get the car to launch cause when you get up there something takes over and you just punch the pedal. I had to try to control myself and come out easy then punch it. Now that I know what the car is capable of maybe next year I'll try the slicks. It was cool looking back at my timeslips and seeing how much better my reaction times were getting. If you look at the picture of my first pass with Al you will see that the light is green and his tires are spinning and I am snoozing at the line.

I could have done without the bracket racing as I found it was more fun challenging myself..

Many thanks to the Clary's and all who made the track day possible.

Darren... I'm dying to know... How do the MT's hook?
I really want to know after you get them hot...
I'm think about them for my '67 572 Malibu

Hook = No way.

Perhaps the Indy SS's compound stick better. Mine are just the standard Indys.

Anyone have some video of our Y-Camaro leaving the line? Particularly the 12.36 pass right out of the trailer? The only seat time I got in the car was pulling it in the trailer at the end of the day, so I'd like to see how the chassis liked the Poly bushings...

Too late for Darren and me, but maybe a "Rookie of the Year" award?

We really need the first timers down the dragstrip to chime in on what kind of fun they had. You don't have to be fast. I'm hoping next year we can get even more first timers in their Supercars to participate in the drags. It really is a great place to learn and have fun.
