It is a liquid substance made by Dow Chemical. It was an option in 69 on most models. It used a canister mounted on the rear wheel housing in the trunk. The canister was vacuum operated by a switch under the dash to use engine vacuum to compress the canister in the trunk. When compressed it would activate the aerosol can inside the canister and spray the gooey film on your tire. After a few seconds your tires became stickey and you drove off the ice ...or slick surface.I've bought the cans anywhere from $1 on up.Most I've seen run approx $30. There is a nice promo package from early 69 with a smaller can from Dow..Unlike the AC can used during the production run.

Thanks, I was wondering how much they are worth, I just bought 11 cans a buck a piece! And they are all in mint condition.
