I can only imagine the draw that track would get if re-opened...I hope it gets done...

[ QUOTE ]
Tom, did they set a date for the reunion?

[/ QUOTE ]

I do not know the date, but he did take my contact information and said he would get back with me. When I hear something I will post it here.

What's this 1970 CHAVELLE crap!

While the local residents have a point about the noise & safety issues,I don't think it's fair to judge the behavior of a few patrons some 35 years ago,on how it would be today. It was after all the 1960's-70's and we were all carefree reckless teenagers back then with long hair.
The Majority of those interested in seeing this become a reality today, are grown up responsible adults with families & careers now.
You never realize what you had until you've truly lost it,so I'd bet everyone would treat the Strip & surrounding areas with much more dignity & respect then ever before...especially on SUNDAY! SUNDAY! SUNDAY!
I know I would.

I was expecting some joke about the "Green Acres" subdivision.
I think I'll stop by Home Depot and buy a case of drywall screws for the guy that was complaining about having to pound nails back into his walls.
My guess would be that the biggest opponents to the track reopening would be the residents in the area who haven't maintained, much less improve, their properties.
I'm going to try and make a point of attending the council meeting next month.
