Anyone have any wisdom on Canadian RED TAG cars? . I have an Oshawa built '67 Biscayne 396 2 Door Post car built for the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. . The Cowl Tag notes "RED TAG RCMP" also a unique paint code. . GM Canada confirmed the options by Vin also the Special Paint but could shed no light on the Red Tag thing. . About 10 years ago a pretty knowledgable older fella' who was an Oshawa plant retiree told me special and fleet vehicles were known as RED TAG cars before COPO designation came out around '68?. . Red Tag and Copo vehicles were taken to a special area after their trip down the assembly line for additional equipment and preparation. . This car does have a 140 Mph Speedo also a few other things not noted in the GM info. . A couple questions, did the B07 Police option start in '68? . Also this vehicle has the K05 Block heater option as confirmed by GM and all info. I've seen says '68 was the first year for K05 w/ only 1 full size unit produced? . Thanks for any help!

COPO was around before 68.
Oshawa / GMCanada must have had another similar system for special orders. Pretty sure that 68 was the first year for K05. Totals I've seen are a lot more than 1 full size. 507 just for Camaro.

Thanks Kurt.....any info. on the RD TAG thing is appreciated. . On the K05 block heater, I know other cars had K05 in '68 but from what I read, only 1 full size '68 Chevy had it.....and this RED TAG Biscayne is a '67?
