The COPO code for the 1972 Vega Special Engine was 9C2AA with a retail price of $77. There were 160 built in 1972.

The October 1971 HOT ROD has a writeup titled The NEW Equalizers. On pg 131 theres a good engine pic showing the 2GC Rochester that was pressurized thru the stock air filter.I installed 2 of Yenko's turbo kits,one on a 72 hatchback and another on my 73Vega Panel Express.

Any luck finding out if this ebay Vega is the real McCoy yet? Anyone know who owns this one...looks like one of the cleanest I've seen. Let's get it to the SCR8. scroll to bottom left

I think that the base price of a Vega was around 2300 bucks, so for an additional $761.80, you could order yourself a Yenko Stinger for a grand total of $3061.80!
