Default Needing my Berger SS picked up & delivered

This is my first post here, so please bear with me, as I tend to ramble at times. First and foremost, I want to make the point that I've enjoyed viewing this site since I found out about it last fall, and I appreciate all the info, advice, & help shared here.

Speaking of help, that is what my post here is about. You see, my recently purchased GMMG 2000 Berger SS Camaro a/k/a PR-1 (which is the very first GMMG proto-type) is down in Marietta, GA, right now being upgraded by GMMG into a phase 2 package. GMMG is about done with it, and now I need to find a way for it to get back home to me here in central Iowa. My dilemma is that I don't own a trailer or a pickup. Of course, I could fly down there and drive it home. But I'd prefer not to do that. Knowing my luck, I'd hit every hail storm and every flying rock on the route home.

Do any of you have any ideas? Who are the reputable delivery services out there? Does anyone know of someone who is going to be down in the Georgia area with a trailer and then might venture north? Of course, I would pay whomever would be willing to deliver this car.

Any help & suggestions will be greatly appreciated. My mind is completely open to anything and everything.
Thanks.
BVV

You could drop down through Tulsa and pick up the nice car trailer I have for sale. Then go on down to get the car.

It is a "All aluminum" tommy's trailer with a curved air dam on the front to protect the car from rocks and such. these are neat trailers. the fender moves off over the tires, to the outside so that you can open the drivers door and get out after you drive on.

You can see them at [url=http://www.tommystrailers.com/[/url]

They only weigh about 1200lbs. You won't even know it is back there.

Then you would have a quality trailer to use in the future. having someone do it would cost almost 1/2 of the cost of this trailer. These are one of the finest open trailers on the market today. You have seen them at just about any collector car show.

Wow Larry I do not know much about trailers but isn't that a lot of money for a brand new one??? I thought that you could buy a nice enclosed one for that much cake.

You can call Fred at Concours Transport. 253-973-3987. He can haul it enclosed.

Pantera,
Good idea about your trailer, b/c I would sure like to have one some day. But, and this is a big BUT, I don't own a pickup in order to pull a trailer. So, no use in buying the cart if I don't have a horse to pull it. Plus, discretionary funds are a little tighter now since I bought this Berger SS and I am contemplating buying a house. Then to top it off, my girlfriend has started the engagement ring talk again.

Anyone have any guesses as to what a car hauler would charge to deliver this car?

Brad,

Congrats on your first post and welcome to the site!

You and I spoke on the phone one day not too long ago via JD LeBlanc.... when Dennis bought his '69 Camaro from John Barrett out of Chandler, AZ, we priced what our cost would be to pick up the car vs freight....we went with the freight as it was much cheaper than out own travle expenses would have been. Dennis drove to Webb City,Mo to meet the hauler and cost from AZ was $845.00. He used Reliable Carriers, Inc. They have offices in MI 734.453.6677, AZ 602.496.8000 and FL 407.859.0876. Hope this helps, will send you a PM with more info.

I used Horseless Carriage to ship the convertible. I highly recommend them.

I am only asking $3,750 for this trailer. The price is about half of what a new one will cost you and then there is a state sales tax on top of that of 8.517%. Not to mention the front air dam on this one costs another $600 bucks.

I doubt if you can find a much nicer trailer than these. I have seen them for years at every collecter and antique car auction.
