It was a Canadian dealer car based on a Lemans, they also had a Commanche Firebird and a Magnum I believe. I have only seen them in pictures.

Yea your right not real popular. Check out the link below www.pontiac-gto.net/history/1970/jury1970.html I guess the Canadian dealer was just trying to create a low cost alternative to the Judge. Check out the Mopar like bumble bee stripe on the rear.

| Re: "The Jury"

"The Jury" was written up in an old HPP issues a while ago. I'm amazed at how many variations of Musclecars there were back then that were striped (sometimes modified) by dealers. But you know, the same holds true today. How many of us have seen "special" cars sold by a dealer, and they claim it is unique to their area? Over the years, I've seen several special versions of cars sold around the Chicagoland Area, including special Buicks (for golf tournaments), a Michael Jordan Chevy Blazer, and those infamous "GMO" Oldsmobiles of the late 1970's. Everyone was trying to create the Royal Bobcat or Yenko package back in the late 60's, it was a real money maker. It hopefully brought people into your dealership in search of that unique car. Jim Wangers pioneered this marketing tactic with help from Royal Pontiac. When Wangers left to start up his own Chevy dealership in the early 1970's, he tried the idea again with a special Monte Carlo and a special Vega. Both were successful. "The Jury" was obviously a low cost alternative to the "The Judge". I think there was another version called "The Lawyer", but unfortunately this version was simply the dealer taking all your money and not giving you the car.
