I am guessing he saw this list and wanted to know which ones are accounted for. Tom's list doesn't indicate registered owner.

Ed's book says that 42 ZL-1 exist today, 20 are documented as stolen or destroyed and 7 cars are unaccounted for. What cars are those 7?

Anything over and above the 42 are fair game, stolen could have been recovered and moved on down the line from an insurance auction, wrecked could have been fixed, would not be the first time I have known of a totaled car repaired, sometimes years later. It aint over until it's over. If you were standing next to a crusher and watched one go....well, scratch that ONE off your list.
