According to Ed's book the 9566AA is the same as the 9562EA with just a tire change and the 9566BA is the same as the 9562FA with just a tire change.
It may have been done later in the year because all the other 427 COPO Chevelles were 9562xx.

I do not know. You may find out by researching what the tire change was and if there is a cut in date for the change.

JoeC
Just imagine a dealer receving a Chevelle COPO 9566 (427-425 HP)
in the first or second week of august 1969.
Probably in august 1969 the dealer has in its inventory (or catalog)
the New 1970 Chevelle SS 454 LS6 (454-450 HP).
What is the deal for the purcaser of the 1969 Chevelle COPO.

That was my exact position. Bought the car on August 20 and shortly after started hearing about the 454. The dealer certainly didn't tell me anything about the new 454. Just as well. My car and the others that I have info on were all late year cars and were all COPO 9566AA. Three of us bought cars through Beare Motors. Two had white lettered Uniroyals and the third had white lettered Firestones, all F70 X 14. The difference between 9562EA and 9566AA is supposed to be the "L78" tires. Our L78 car came with whitewall F70 X 14 tires as per the GM of Canada documentation. What exactly was an "L78" tire?

Keith

I think exactly like you, COPO did not change a complete code just for the tires.

And 9566 it is completly a new CODE.
And I have a Theory about this...

Look this partial..Theory for 1969 model/year
0= 9560 AA to ZZ = 69 Camaro ZL1 (first Gen/Camaro..ZL1) remove 956 =***0**
1= 9561 AA to ZZ = 69 Camaro L72 (first Gen/Camaro..L72) remove 956 =***1**
2= 9562 AA to ZZ = 69 Chevelle L72 (First Gen/ChevelleL72) remove 956 =***2**
3= ????
4= ????
5= ????
6= 9566 AA to ZZ = 69 Chevelle L72 (Second Gen*/ChevelleL72) remove 956 =***6**
7= 9567 AA to ZZ = 69 Camaro ZL1 (Second Gen/Camaro ZL1(Proto) remove 956 =***7**

*Remark the 9566 restart to AA codes.

Your opinion about this...
PS(Mais il me manque plusieur information)
