It’s a 1969 Roadrunner, and the hood stripes were an option on all Roadrunners that year, the V21 Performance Hood Paint. It wasn’t on all Roadrunners that year, and apparently wasn’t on this one either-it’s not on the fender tag or the window sticker. Somebody apparently thought it wasn’t muscle-y enough for their taste with just a Hemi.

Perhaps the V21 came along with the Air Grabber hood, which is also normally an option but maybe came standard on Hemi-equipped Road Runners?

One source book I read subsequently this morning said that the Air Grabber (aka 'Coyote Duster') hood was optional with the 383, standard with the Hemi. No clarification about the V21 though.

Wow!! Wow wow wow!!! That’s awesome! Just need a mullet now

V21 was optional, had no bearing on what motor was in it. Not standard with Hemis. Also, it could have been included in the A14 Spring Package too.

But it was optional and would have been coded on the Broadcast Sheet or Monroney label.

Cheers
Dave

Just went to BAT to look at the auction page, the music that this beast makes when it's running should be played when you're on hold on the phone. When I was a kid the phrase we used for Hemi cars was that they sounded like a coffee can full of rocks at idle....The daydream today is I win Lotto 6/49, buy this, and throw my collector plate Miata outside...........
