A carburetor vehicle with mechanical pump, driven in sub-zero temps, absolutely!
Fifty years ago my 283 Malibu DD died at -20. Two cans of de-icer and a half hour later, off I went. We kept gas tanks close to full back then. |

I lived in the Chicago suburbs the first 56 years of my life. Never used any gasoline additives, and some of my vehicles sat outside in the winter. Like Bill W said, tried to keep the gas tank reasonably full to prevent moisture formation.

I have used Stabil for years in my M/C's, boats, jet-ski's, lawn equipment for years and have never had an issue by using it. Then again, never in the cold,, cold climates some of you live in.

If you have access to it.. AvGas (100 octane LL) will last a LONG time. I have it in my cars, and never an issue of it breaking down
