Default Firewall Wire

I was wondering if anyone knew where the taped wire pictured on the firewall leads to

You sure it isn't the tach wire? Cars with U16 Tachometer (not the full gauge package U17) got an extra hole drilled just above the fuse block for the tach wire. That means it also would have a center fuel gauge.

I do have a Center Fuel Gauge. I also have the ZL2 Hood Option. As strange as this gets, I have a Gauge Harness underneath dash which I assumed was for Console Gauges

If you have center fuel gauge, you won't have console gauges. Your under dash harness should have a orange/white for the light at the back of the console. not sure what else was in that harness except maybe a ground on a 4 speed car. The picture you take this evening will tell the rest of the story....Joe

Somewhere along the way someone attempted to put in console and gauges.
Only the U16 gauge package received that hole.
