 Have some buddies in that area I can ask them as well I think George delorean may have had a 68 bird w RAV power that raced in the Detroit area but feel like it was mainly street. I know there was a black firebird from engineering that prowled around. Looked it up and the car I was thinking of was Jim wingers car this what you were thinking of?
