			I think you're right on Bundy. Did they have the exploding gas tank issue fixed up by '73? Or was that mostly a two-door hatchback issue?

			That was actually a young woman who left her gas cap off after a fill-up, stopped on the roadside to put it back on and was rear-ended by a van doing about 60. Gas shot out of the open filler and ka-boom, the exploding Pinto legend was born.
