I have a good original 5-blade, 4-rivet, 3" inner diameter fan with an original Schweitzer clutch that needs rebuilding. I will also include a brand new Eaton style fan clutch. Fan itself is clean and would only need to be stripped and repainted.
This is the fan that looks 95% like the original '67-68 L78/Z28 fans but costs around 1/10 the price. I finally found the correct fan for my Z so this one is up for sale. Looking for $225 shipped for the whole deal. I can get pics for those interested. |

Could you please show the difference between the two? I'm looking for the 67 Hipo fan also for my 67.
Thanks, Steve.

3 VS. 3.25" bolt spacing is one feature but 4 and 5 rivet count is another. I read somewhere that very late 67 L78's were built with the smaller 3" spacing and 5 rivets for a period of time.
It was on one of the Camaro sites and cannot find it for the life of me.

Here are a few pics to help distinguish this fan (which I believe is from a 1967 327 Corvette) from the '67-68 Z/28 and L78 fan. If I hadn't run across the correct fan for a great price I would have gladly used this one on my Z.
First pic is the view you would see once the fan is installed. Hi-po fan is on the left. Not a heck of a lot of difference except the hi-po fan clutch is a bit bigger. ![]() Second pic is taken from the radiator side of the fan. Hi-po fan is on the left. ![]() Third pic shows the clutch diameter of the fan that's for sale: ![]() Fourth pic shows the clutch diameter of the hi-po fan: ![]() Fifth pic shows both fans have the 'W' stamping on the hub. ![]() Next pic shows the 3" bolt circle diameter of the fan that's for sale: ![]() Next pic shows the 3.25" bolt circle diameter of the hi-po fan: ![]() |
