I have a very nice housing / axles / cover / yoke coded 0609CI for a late 1969 Chevelle. No issues, clean low-mile parts. Sold minus carrier and gears but have a 4-series small-window carrier available for extra $. Rare code, looking for $900 or best.
Thanks sYc! |

Thank you, this is a super nice part that has been in storage since the early 1980s!

Here is a perfect example of why NOT to get rid of parts. Years ago I removed all the innards from a 3.31 open rear. Within about the last five years I sold the gears for $50 and gave away the open 3 series carrier for the cost of shipping. Why? Figured with my 69 Z/28 I would never have a use for 3.31 gears or an open 3 series carrier, and was tired of storing, moving the parts.
Fast forward. Picked up a virtually rust free 68 El Camino basket case a couple years ago. Built a low RPM high torque 350 roller motor and installed a 460LE four speed auto. The vehicle was originally 307 PG with AC so it has a 3.36 10 bolt rear. Gear ratio is PERFECT for the low first gear in the 460LE. Would rather have a 12 bolt, because I plan to tow with it from time to time. 3.31 would be just about right for a 12 bolt. However, Chevelle 12 bolt rears are expensive. Had I saved all my parts, I could have bought this rear and not had to spend too much. Lesson learned. GLWS.
