Nice original gearset dated 4 70 on the ring and 5 69 on the pinion. These are a matched set and were 100% quiet in the GTO they came out of (long story). Excellent condition with some minor pits on a few of the teeth from being immobile as the car sat from 1980 until 2016. Looking for $950 shipped anywhere in the lower 48, pics available.

interesting that one gear is dated 69 and other 70...I assume they were not in a BE rear?
extremely rare parts... if they were both dated 69, they would already be sold... GLWS |

They were actually out of a KQ rear that my buddy found in a 67 GTO. Obviously not the original gear set to that rear. This isn't the first set of COPO gears I've seen with a large stagger on the ring and pinion dates, interestingly enough.

if it was in a chevelle, it must be a replacement gear..since it is dated 70... correct? I thought if it was in a Duece, I guess ?? it could be original.. didn't they have a COPO posi set up also?

Midyear '69 dated KQ rears had the 226/228 Copo ring/pinion. This '70 dated ring gear was a later replacement.

I forgot to mention all the original Grade 8 'TR' ring gear bolts and lock washers will be included.

Do you mean the Chevelle that originally came with that KQ rear? I have no idea. The 67 GTO didn't have much of an owner history trail, so it wasn't clear who swapped the rear and when.
