Default Re: "Roof" Deuce for sale ('70 YENKO Nova)

Thank you everyone for your comments, I was and am prepared that some will like and some will not like what we did. All original parts are secured and stored, all (Sam) Day 2 parts are secured and stored, and all items can be returned to stock. I built this car the way I would have built it if I walked into the dealer in 1970 and purchased it and then had dealer adds put on the car. Think of it this way, if in 1970 I am a huge Chevy fan, but don’t like the new Camaro body style, don’t like the Corvette, but I really like the Nova, and am a Yenko fan, so I have the dealer add items that I want to make the car more to my liking. As for the Hurst wheels, I know that Hurst finished the last 50 for Yenko, my CG Deuce is one of the 50, and I know that at least 1 of those 50 had Hurst wheels. We have an original set of Hurst wheels for the car, they were very pricy and we have a re-pop set … also pricy. I am posting 1 last picture of the Nova (engine) and 1 last picture of the Cougar for now, you can see them at the show, and after the show I will post detailed pictures and info. Wishing everyone a great day and see you at the show.

I am looking forward to meeting you all and hopefully out of the 5 cars we are brining, everyone will be able to find at least 1 that they like in our area : )

The last 50 Deuces were converted by Hurst for Yenko, 10 each of SY, HO, CG, FB and CR.

Not my cup of tea, but each to his own. If you like the look, that's all that really matters....

Hurst wheels were never on a nova. Even the hurst giveaway car had cragars on it. Hurst wheels were not even manufactured after 68 for those in the know. So they never could have been on a 70.

I believe this is from the 1st run of 125. And yes, Dave's was near the end as was Cronkleton's blue deuce. FWIW this isn't the 1st deuce with side pipes. There's a SF yellow one still with the original owner that really did put them on day 2 back in the day. Still on the last I knew. I think his car was on the transport with mine. Not sure Cronkleton's might have been too. The side pipes were, I believe, a reflection of the Motion mods that were getting lots of magazine articles at the time. The Hurst tie in has some times been over blown. It was mainly the stripes, and conversion to the floor for the automatics. Hurst converted autos usually had back up lights that actually worked. I don't know of any that ever got the rims.

Thought about putting dual quads/tunnel ram on mine when I was way much younger. Probably a good thing I didn't. :-)

Yes, the Roof Deuce was definitely in the first order of 125 cars, and was not converted by Hurst. We are not aware of any Deuces that came new with Hurst wheels, but they don't look half bad.... Schoneye is correct about the side pipes, there is a SY Deuce in Nebraska that still has 'em - looks cool too!

Hey, if that is the way you choose to enjoy the car while you are the caretaker - have at it, manifolds with sidepipes, Hurst mags, roll control, dual quads... !

Very good eye, you caught the change back to the manifolds, (they were professionally ported flow tested, good for 16 HP) and the Vintage Hurst Line Lock, there are also some significant changes in the cockpit………. You didn’t catch the Power Steering add ……. All numbers correct and NOS. : )

Really enjoy this forum, the best out there, see you all soon .......... Sam hope you are going to be there : )
