Todd </div></div> The only thing unique about this Z is the special paint order and that paint color applied at the factory. The stripes were applied the same as every other Z. Not sure if the dealer or owner had the stripes continue down the tail panel. To me a lot of hype over nothing....

Since some of the posts here were about how auctions run, I have a question. If I remember correctly at the Barrett-Jackson auctions, the staff is not allowed to bid on any of the auction cars. I may be mistaken, but I believe that is the case. Do the other auctions not have the same rules? Also, am I correct about the BJ auction company?

Does Mecum let the bidders know that they will also bid on their own cars?
.... We may discuss it here ... but a lot of the bidders are not aware of this practice unless it is in the bidders information that is supplied to them from Mecum. ...Where it is a "common" practice with auction companies... ... I thought Mecum was more "reputable" then to do this ... It just does not seem right. ... Maybe someone from Mecum will chime in and explain it to all of us. |

Barrett Jackson are mainly No Reserve auctions except for the 7-figure "salon" cars. That is why they don't have to chandelier bid on the cars. |

Many auction houses bid up near the reserve. They by law have to disclose that in the auction info. They have hundreds of cars to get thru. You might have a 100K reserve on a car and one guy bids 10K. It has the potential to waste alot of time and the auctioneer knows they are 90K away from reserve so they bid it up quickly to where they think they can put buyer and seller within deal territory. You might see a car bid up fast and die fast but it is because the auctioneer knows there is no real money.

The dealer added the stripe extensions.
