Dan,
Congrats to you and Greg for the "Best of Show" award for the Chevelle convertible. I can't imagine how much time and effort went into the project. Thanks for the great pix. Looked like a great show. Phil Woj |

Oh, and thanks for posting the photos of the other cool Chevys too. |

Hats off to Dave Ellis, for spending so much time & money to get his factory L-78 396/375HP Convt.back to it's original drag racing trim condition.
He spent many years painstakingly researching it,and finding the few parts it was missing. Many obstacles stood in Dave's way, many people tried to screw him,but he refused to let that overcome him & kept going forward. That's Dave in the wheelchair to the left, behind the car in the 1st pic. A true testament to what's inside a man. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

![]() Thanks for the pictures! I never could understand why Chevy put the stripes just above the windsheild on convertibles. Just looks stupid. |

We see him every year at the LaHarpe event and he always has a smile and kind words. Far too few people know about Dave, his struggles, and this car, ...... which happens to be a 'sister car' to the Truppi-Kling/Briggs LS6 driven b Ray Allen. Good to see him out & about enjoying himself. Great coverage Dan. Thanks a bunch!

Notice the '70 El camino front bumper on Daves' Chevelle,as it was when raced back then.
I kept telling him, you'd better put that on if returning to drag trim. |
