Default Gas tanks and caps

I have been noticing on the cars I have replaced the gas tanks in, that the gas caps do not fit securely and gas just spews out on acceleration. I believe the only tanks i have used are Quanta.

I just found out as well the new power steering pump won't snug down the original cap either. Thanks for that mess under the hood.

Anyone had the same experience or have any ides for me as to how to fix the issue.

Thanks

One of the reasons OEM original parts are better than repro stuff ...

I did not replace the neck only the small ring portion at the very end of the neck that the gas cap locks into. I used a propane torch on the original gas tank neck (that Schonye removed and sent to me) to undo the solder on the ring that the gas cap locks into and then soldered my original ring onto the Quanta gas tank. Simple process, but took time to make certain no explosions would occur!!

Totally agree with Bill here. I have one in Corvette and I'm fairly certain my Z28 has one too. I've installed another 4-5 on Mid Year cars and cannot begin to say how many Quanta fuel sending units I've installed. Never had an issue!
