Default 65 Corvette gauges

What is an original 65 Corvette instrument cluster with the wiring harness worth. There is a Feb 1965 date stamped on the back. It needs cleaning up but all the gauges look good. Tach has a 6000 rpm redline. The harness looks to be in pretty good condition.

$800 to $1,000 is a good estimate. This will only work for a 327/350 HP motor. That's the only engine that year that had a 6,000 RPM redline in 1965. It would also work for the '66 version of that motor and the 390 HP 427 for '66 and '67.

agreed. Perhaps a touch more for someone looking for a nice "Survivor" cluster.

Thanks for the responses. I wasn't sure what engine it is correct for. I'll probably take it apart and clean it up good before trying to sell it.

----James,,,Post a pic if you can so we can give you an idea of weather or not you should take it apart. Theres alot of small stuff in there that might not make it thru the experience, so being careful or not doing it at all should be a slow decision you should make. I can tell you from experience as I have done dozens, that the faces and the needles wont put up with much cleaning of any sort. Pick your cleaner very very carefully if you go thru with it. Hope this helps......Bill S

Take it apart and just dust all the faces with a fine paint brush. It works wonders.

Thanks for the info. Here are some pictures. The chrome looks a lot better than it does in the pictures.

Should be easy to clean up. The dust is probably mainly on the glass lenses which could be cleaned with windex and 000 or 0000 steel wool. Nice cluster.
