Yes; about 2% of all '69s according to our un-scientific db.
Don't know why. I think it is a great color. A friend had one a few years back; sold new at Nickey Chev. An early production Burgundy Z/28 is believed to have had red stripes.

Los Angeles built at least one Burgundy '69 RS Z/28 that I know of (now which garage did I put that in???)......
Code 67 67 - Burgundy (no vinyl top) / White Stripes / Black Deluxe Interior / 01D build date / currently finished in Burnished Brown. Not sure why this was a special order color for LA built cars but I like it anyway.....
