I looked at two 74 Camaros yesterday, a Z28 that had a -- paint code and a LT that had neutral interior with neutral custom seats but the dash, console and carpet were all green. I have never seen either of these things before, I was wondering if anyone else had and if they were common. The LT was pretty much a survivor so I am almost positive it came from the factory that way.

My 74 Type LT had a white vinyl interior with brown dash and carpet.On NastyZ it seems that all LT's had cloth.There are some odd color combos including balck with either red or blue carpet and belts,as well as green with black checkered seats.If you go over to nastyZ.com and look at the 74 section maybe it will show you something faimiliar.What were the interior codes on these cars?

My '74 Z has a code 53 exterior with a "Light Saddle" interior. The dash pad is a dark green color with matching carpeting. When I first bought the car I thought it was odd and wondered if they had been changed. I found out from the original owner that that's how it came. I've never seen a '74 with the paint code being "--", but I would say it's a rare occurrence. I guess Chevy liked the green dash/carpet in the light colored interior cars.

Maybe somebody on the line was colorblind.It does sound like the decor of some houses from that era though.Maybe some dark wood paneling accents?Was the green rug "extra deep shag"?Was the vinyl top done in fuzzy stripe wallpaper?{oh wait thats an Itailian only option}
