I think the color is great, personally I would not reshoot it and let it stand on it's own. (let the buyer factor the refinish (or not) into his offer)

[/ QUOTE ]

Those are my intentions at this time.

I have sold MANY cars over the years long distance and sight unseen for the buyer. More often than not the buyers after receiving the car have called and thanked me stating that the car was better than they were expecting. This is why I prefer to point out what I feel are negatives up front on a car like this.

This car is not for EVERY buyer. It looks like a grandma grocery getter. No evidence of it being a performance car other than the small engine emblem. Basically a drag car although it is perfectly street drivable as a fair weather car.

It is a car that the people that appreciate a stripped down, all business, sleeper, factory build, low mileage, original type car will find attractive for what it is.

According to the original 1966 Dodge PPG color sheet I have the color name is PALE, MED. TURQUOISE POLT code 12898, although everyone that i have ever spoken to always refers to it as Medium Turquoise.

Even with Chrysler they had different marketing names for the same color depending if it was a Dodge or a Plymouth as example.

Also, your parents car was a "C" body which often times had colors that were exclusively available to those models. Often they were shade differences of colors available on other models in the same year.

I have sent you a PM.

If it is, I would certainly like to speak with the owner. There is a possibility of this as when I bought my vanity plates for the car I had requested 1 OF 11 and it was not available. They would not give me the complete V.I.N. of the car that had the plate but did tell me that it was a 1966 Dodge beginning WE21. So I got ONE OF 11 for my car.
I have never been able to track down this car through my Mopar contacts here in Arizona.

Typically when I hear this it turns out to be a Coronet Deluxe and NOT the BASE model. I here this often and seldom does it turn out to be a BASE model.

I have been collecting info for these 11 cars since I bought mine and so far have V.I.N. verification on the following:

1. My car

2. A matching color combo to my car

3. A dark Blue car that sold on Ebay approximately 4 years ago. Possibly this is the car in Mesa? Was it restored in Texas (I think) by Bob West?

4. a Silver car that was stolen in 1969 that the owner still has the V.I.N. and continues to look for the car and has never been discovered.

I have other info on SUPPOSED cars that I do NOT have V.I.N.s for. One is a dark Blue car and the other is a Black car with Gold interior.

Wasn't there someone in Prescott that had one? He has a stash of great cars that hide back in his machine shop.

Not that I am aware of.

I live fairly close to Prescott and know some car guys there as well as a guy that has a LOT of old hipo stuff and used to work for Mickie Thompson back in the day. He has a Thunderbolt amoung many others.

What do you think it is worth? I am guessing here but I would say between 50-65k. Place it up on Ebay with the reserve you want and see what the open market dictates. Good time of year to try, there will be those that get their annual bonuses. Chances are it will get some good exposure and a real buyer will contact you through Ebay.

I don't want this to be considered a "for sale" ad.

There is no secret about what I think it is worth as I have had it listed here in the classified section with trade possibilities as well.

I also had it listed as a classified ad on Ebay last week and only had one inquiry on it during that time.

Here is a link to that expired ad:
