I'm changing the 4 speed Sag on my SBC 350 to a Turbo 400. the flexplate(168 tooth) hits the starter that bolts to the engine. The small 153 tooth flexplate fits. The trans shop says that I have the wrong starter for the 400 trans/168 tooth flexplate. I ordered another starter for the 350/400 combo but it's the same as the one I have. What am I missing? Shall I just use the 153 plate?
