1955 Porsche 550 Spyder Racer Replica

This car was Built by Vintage Spyder's of California, in 1998. It is titled as a 1955 vehicle. It is not a VW pan Kit car, it has a full tube Chassis, with a 2175cc 165hp engine. These cars can go 130mph and run 13 sec 1/4 mile times. They are also fun and inexpensive sports cars.

The car weighs approx only 1,300 pounds. So it has a trememdous HP to weight ratio.

There are a bunch of differences between the Vintage cars and the Becks. Vintage has positioned themselves as an upgrade car that can also be used to have fun on the track.

As a matter of fact he built many, many more Speedsters than Spyders although the spyders are more fun to drive aggressively. I have seen these running up and down PCH when I take my kids to the beach and at a few local car shows. The quality is first rate and they look like a blast to drive. I had a bug with a 1776 motor and that was fun surprising a few cars off the line. I can only imagine what a bigger motor placed mid chassis and less weight would do.
