1968 Camaro that is a project, I’ve had this car sitting for a couple of years now. I have no paper work to know what this car is for sure. It has RS components and Z/28 badges. Front disk, 6000 red line tach, 15in tire pressure sicker on glove box, motor and trans are missing. Car has a big block heater core. But it’s the 12 bolt that’s in the car stamped BE 0305G2
E The date code is too hard to read and I have not pulled the cover to see what guts are inside. And with the weather in Michigan it may be months before I am able to check. There is a guy who has been asking about buying the car. I don’t know how serious he is, I guess my question would be what would be a fair price. Car appears restorable but will need major attention. Thanks |

Get the cast date code off, Im still new on finding the history on "BE" rears, I have been told they are COPO specific, My 68 had a real late 68 or real early 69 Oct. date code, I think mine was a over the counter part every thing else on my car is, but have been told it never happened

The stamping pattern lends credence to a possible restamped "BL" but could be legit BE as several 03B Yenkos have that exact dated rear. A better close-up of the casting date and pulling the rear cover would shed more light on things and help you to determine a fair price for the car if you decide to sell it.

I want to pull the cover off for my own curiosity and to clear up the questions being asked about it. But we are expecting a storm here tonight and the ground is too soft to try to move it right now so I don’t know when I’ll be able to do it. i am only around on weekends and it's hit and miss with weather. but when i do i will post the results.
thanks to all the help and replys. |

Looks like a BL rear stamped to BE to me.... [/ QUOTE ] That's what I thought about the last BE rear that popped up. But looking at pictures of real BE rears and even in Jerry's book, that's what most of the E's look like. So it could very well be an original BE rear.

Shouldn't the E for Eaton and the E in BE look about the same? I would think they would be stamped at the same time.
