I have some decals for early 70 build dates. I am working on producing the 5044756 decal to cover the 1970-1972 model years.

I'll keep all of you posted when they're available.

Someone asked.
On my pic..
232 is the day in the year the Wiper motor was assembled.(August 20th)
9 is the last digit of that year-1969.
1 is the line.
B is the shift.

Good info, I was always curious why so many digits on the silly little foil!

Anyone have a idea on removing paint from one of these tags without any damage to the tag.

I use a straight razor blade to pick up an edge. A gentle pull will remove it intact.

Mr 70, On page 1 of this thread, there are pics of the new repopped stickers.

What does the 6 stand for ........and might the "A" stand for shift 1, "B" shift 2 ?????

Is LINE "1" a Chevrolet Branded car ???? like on eng block stampings

The 6 stands for the Delco line the component was assembled on.
I believe the Delco "A" shift was day,"B" shift was night.
I don't think line assembled on was brand specific for these, but not certain.

Rick,

I've copied original tags that have letters for both the line and shift (A E), I have also seen either letter as high as E. The numbers are very confusing.
