| '65 Galaxie 390/4-sp Convertible

Cool car - some of the greatest bucket-seat interiors of the muscle car era (right up there with the '65-67 full-size Pontiacs, IMO). Needs a lot of work, but looks solid. Link to 1965 Galaxie 390/4-sp Convertible Project auction |

And here's a pretty nice '66 with the same drivetrain combo for $18.5k: Link to 1966 Galaxie 500 Convertible auction |

I always liked 65s in particular. A guy here in the Detroit area had a black 7 litre with the Pyrex headlamp covers which looked great. This green one looks pretty close.

I have one of those 390/4sp XL convertibles, and I wholeheartedly agree with the interior comment. But geez, that poor thing has a long and expensive road ahead of it. It is a late car with the console that uses a rubber boot. Mine is early, and has the sliding plate. Good photo comparison.

That bucket seat design and console are awesome. Tom, I rotated your photo. That sliding shifter plate is so cool! |
