| Code Readers/ Scanners

Hi All, Anyone have experience with a good code reader for modern cars? Likely looking for a level 2 that can be used on American and Foreign cars. Don't need something at a mechanics level but would like to make a good handy purchase. Thanks, Dave |

Dave- I have had good luck with this Actron CP9550 pocket scan for several years now https://actron.com/sites/default/fil...lish_16361.pdf It is entry level but allows basic diagnostic information and can clear the codes after diagnoses. If I recall it was around $75. Not sure about import compatibility. |

I bought this one for my son since he was just starting to drive last year. He used it at least once on a check engine light - gas cap was ajar! Innova 3100j Check Engine Code Reader Scan Tool with ABS, SRS, EVAP, and Freeze Frame https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
