| 3946074 Head Value

I recently posted a pair of virgin Dec 1968 dated 074 heads in the classifieds. The heads are all new and have never had any porting or repairs. I listed the price as $6K. I thought the heads would sell quickly but I have received little response. Is my price way out of line? I know it is a hefty price tag and should be justified due to the rarity and condition fo the heads. The only comp I had for these heads is the single bare head I recently sold: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=260702257540 Any replies would be appreciated. I don't wat to be the guy who is "on glue" in regards to part pricing. Thanks, Jason |

I might be wrong but I think you lucked out selling the single head for that much. Dustin |

That could very well be. That is why I was asking. Thanks for the reply, Jason |

Although a rare date for those heads, it is just as rare to find someone who 'must have' that specific date. I recall a member here advertising willing to pay 7k for a set of Feb dated heads. But he was an owner of a real ZL-1. I think the market is soft right now also...compared to a few years ago. I agree that I think you got top dollar for that single head. |

They were late 68 dated? Were those the heads with the strange 70-80's date codes that they were claiming to be 68? Jason |

There was a set of LATE 1968 heads offered by a member here for around 5k and they were also on ebay for a while. They were super nice with no repairs, however, someone converted them to D port at some point in time. I believe they finally sold, don't know for how much though. -Matt

OK, I decided to post the heads on Ebay. The reserve is set at $5500. If this reads like a for sale ad I understand if it needs to be deleted. I thought it went along the line of the original thread I started. 12/68 34946074 Aluminum Heads |
