That is the correct assembly line filter. Brian Caudell used to reproduce them, they had the right B/W screening on the side but were not correctly embossed on the bottom. It is good to finally see the real one.

I would have thought that would have compromised the paint finish after all those years but I guess not.

Under coating will come off with Mineral Spirits or even WD-40, and the paint will not be affected.

Plain old Kerosene, some soft brushes and a little patience. Can't beat it!

Yes I put the filter back on after filling it with Marvel Mystery oil. I had also used a ton of in the carb and the inside of the exhaust shouldn't rust anymore because I have red oil on the ground mixed in with the condensation.

I found a couple spots on the car were it was touched up with a brush. It appears the paint got chipped when they installed the front and rear glass trim. I'm guessing the factory did the touch up. I had asked Norman and he said he never did and touch up. If he had he would have also done the door ding that made him park the car.
