Reverse Lock-out Rod for 69 Chevelle
Guys,
Looking for a reverse Lock-out rod for my 69 Chevelle 4-speed. It's the one that goes from the Lock-out mechanism up to the steering column. Thought I had the right one but it turned out to be for an automatic. thanks, Jim Hanke 630-390-5579

Can someone post pics or tell me the differences. I have one that I don't remember what it came off of and one still on a manual trans 72 Nova that I will be pulling off since it looks like it will be in the way of the headers when they go in.

Jim and Bill,
The correct upper backdrive rod should be stamped 2889 for 4-speed cars. The lower rod is stamped 5497. These are the same for all Muncie 4-speed equipped 69-72 Chevelles. Saginaw 4-speeds use different rods. I can email pics to anybody interested but don't know how the attachment thing works for these websites. Chris
