Default Jeff Gordon

Some say he is just darn lucky, others say he is very skilled. Love him or hate him it looks like hes on a roll.

Will this be the year he grabs his 5th Cup title? Thoughts....

You don't win 80+ races and 4 cups by being lucky. He is one of the best ever.

I'm a life-long Earnhardt fan. I rarely want Gordon to win (only if he's beating other guys I dislike more), but I do have respect for him.

With the points lead he gained during the "regular season", and seeing how he and his team have picked it back up during the Chase, it's looking like #5 for him.

All racers rely somewhat on luck, but that's not enough to win in Gordon style! He's a natural, and one of only two that I watch - the other is Tony Stewart

yeah, me too.......well almost, I never want Gordo to win and right now I can't think of anyone I dislike more. Especially since I stayed up to watch that crap on saturday night. I was a Ryan Neuman fan for about 8 seconds. He must have a wall magnet in his car..everytime he's lead this year.

Honestly, its been tough to watch since 2001

Although it has never made the news headlines, both Gordon and Dale Sr. had great respect for each other. Early on, Gordon said that Dale taught him alot about Cup racing on and off the track. Earnhardt encouraged Gordon to license and control his image for marketing (Dale was the first Cup driver to do it.) They actually entered into several business partnerships before Dale passed away.

I'am thinking Gordon learned well from the #3.

If I could have any driver for a full season to drive , deal with sponsers and present a positive image it would be Jeff Gordon.
If I had my choice of any driver to run just 10 races in sprints, nascar, iroc type, indy/champ car or imca I would choose Tony Stewart. He can drive and win in anything. But if he doesn't slim down he's not going to fit in a car, even the COT.

Craig,
Yes,it's his to lose.He and Stewart are the best crossover drivers in the series, bar none. That's why they havre six titles between them-how many others in the last few years can make that claim?.

Short track,miles,superspeerdways..they are competitve on all-but the real reason why those two are so successful is their dominance on the road courses.Yes there's only two on the schedule, but a well set up car on a road course does not guarantee you'll be at the front like at an oval.Look how hard the road race specialists have to work for top fives on them and that's their bread and butter.Hardly a coincidence that all the new drivers coming into the series are from that backround.I thinkit's analogous to the old AMA series where you had to be multi talented in a variety of racing enviroments and clearly those two are head and shoulders above the rest in that respect.

That being said, what do you call a basement of Johnson's,Gordon's and Stewarts?

The whine cellar!

I miss the 3 car
