Looking for GM wires for my 70 Z28 (350). Does not need to have the correct date but must be new. I'm breaking down at 4500 rpm at WOT.
I notice a weak spark with one of my plug testers.
I've changed:
fuel filter
plugs
points
condensor
rotor
dist cap

Sounds like a possible coil failure too, often erratic at higher revs..
Is the weak spark on only one lead...and have you tried running it at night, in the dark looking for sparks?.
Best of luck!.

No sparks jumping in the dark. I tried 3 different coils and have 9 volts at the + side of the coil to GND with the engine idling, and when I increase the RPM, the volts increase. Also my mechanical advance is working with the timing light. A delco plug wires tester says their all in the ok green zone, but I think it's just checking for breaks or large resistance.

Another tester I have looks like this guys and if I have it set between the plug and wire and set the dial to 30,000v I get no spark. But at 20,000v I do, so that's weak. Also with another tester that I touch the wire with and the tester should glow if the spark is strong, I see a weak light and hardly any at some boots. I also did the test with the plug wire set on the exhaust manifold to see how strong the jump is. It's not great. So I need a set of wire and hope that's the problem. My Taylor Spiro Pro wires are over 10 yrs old.

Last week I could hit 6,000 rpm in 1,2,3 before letting off.

Found this, are these good wires?http://www.lectriclimited.com/spark_...production.htm

If one wire's spark seems worse than the rest, swap it with the strongest spark one and retest to see if the problem moves and is truly the wire that's bad..
Also, if you've gapped your new points open enough already and are wondering about distrib. bushing wobble, sometimes adjusting points gap open more than spec will strengthen the weak cyl. spark..

Did you check with your GM dealer. I bought a big block set a few years ago. You never know what they still have available. As close as your nearest dealer, and no shipping costs, just ridiculous prices on a lot of stuff.

I called the GM dealer this AM along with Chapmans. Nothing. Wouldn't you think GM and other Co could make a few bucks on GM wires again. There are alot of old cars on the road.

I called UPS for an estimate. F.Me So much for FREE TRADE.

On a 2 lb pkg 8x10
Ground service 19.38
Disbursement fees – 5.00
Customs clearance – 7.00
Plus duty - ?
Total - 31.38 without the duty.
