I could be wrong but I do not believe there are ANY interchangeable parts between the two engines.

That dual quad Mystery Motor intake manifold that Verne posted is a work of art. Probably the only one ever made and worth it's weight in gold. Just think of the implications of that piece being developed. NASCAR had a single 4-BBL rule so that means the Mystery Motor was going to start appearing in drag cars. Maybe even street cars. Then the 1963 GM racing ban went into effect and all was lost. You know, Smokey was a big fan of the Mystery motor and claimed it was an engineering marvel and easily capable of 2HP per CID. He was not impressed in 1965 when the modern MKIV debuted and the ports were moved around to accomodate head bolts out of convenience. A real shame.
