Yet another cool find where this L78 Chevelle remained with the previous owner for nearly 27 years.
The car is truly stunning.....it is a fully documented Fremont, CA. built L78....Cortez Silver, M21 Bench, Rosewood wheel....with many original parts. The car recieved one repaint in 1984 circa...comes with it`s original smog system and radio. I took over 100 pictures of the car on Saturday....here are a few. Look for this car to be featured in the L78 display at the next Chevy Vette Fest. Anyone else owning a California built L78....please contact me. This is how an original spring 1969 Chevelle should sit ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Tags still remain on original springs ![]() ![]() ![]() Somewhat strange....all whels are YA`s (as noted on the Build Sheet) except for the spare. I have no reason to believe the spare is original. Anyone else seen this? ![]() ![]() ![]() Just over 70K miles ![]() Shifter ball is not original...said to be out of a late model Trans Am. ![]() Glove box light works ![]() ![]() Glove box...tire pressure decal ![]() ![]() Notice the depth of the center caps ![]() T3`s ![]() ![]() ![]() BA stamping ![]() ![]() Last one ![]() Oh....the brother stopped by with his new toy....but this is for another thread. ![]() ![]() Dan. |

It is absolutely amazing what shows up....and practically in your own neighborhood!
That Silver looks great and the L78 under the hood only makes it that much better. Looks like the L78 Showcase for the next Vettefest is going to be amazing! Thanks for adding this one to "the list" and Congrats on another incredible find. BA |

No, Just gave it the annual bath this past weekend.
Dan, "Chevelles only" must be some form of illegal discrimination. ![]() |

Nice car. I have an original 69 SS (325hp) Baltimore car, 4a build date. It has the same low stance as this one (wi/orignal springs). I noticed a similar stance in the early 69 Chevelle SS advertisements as well.
Also noteworthy is that it seems Fremont cars got the tire pressure decal in the glove box door whereas Framingham and Baltimore got them on the driver's door. All the wheels on my car have just about the same dates. I noticed that they spare has a tube in it. It was probably used at some point and/or transferred from another car. Unless you are the original owner, you'll never know. Nice photos. Phil Woj. |
